Pickleball might be a growing sport in India, but it has found great fans in the country. Global Sports recently hosted a week-long Pickleball championship in Mumbai, with international pro athletes, amateur players and lovers of the game coming together to celebrate the sport.

The third season of the Indian Open saw over 1,300 players register to play, while 10 teams in the Pro and Challenger Leagues battled it out for a chance to win the trophy in this debut championship.

Explaining why they incubated this idea, Yuvraj Ruia, co-founder, says, "The idea was that the Pro League caters to the top quality pickleball players across the world, while the Challenger League is aspirational. It allows people who are on the verge of becoming pros to be able to showcase their talents on a big stage."
