'DIRTY MIND VOMITED ON YOUTUBE SHOW'| Allahbadia, associates not to air any other show till further orders'
-
The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted interim protection from arrest to podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, over his controversial comments on a YouTube show. However, while extending relief, the bench strongly criticised his remarks, calling them "vulgar" and a reflection of a "dirty mind" that had shamed society.
Several FIRs were lodged against Allahbadia in different states over his statements about parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show, India's Got Latent.
A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice N Kotiswar Singh expressed their disapproval of the language used by Allahbadia.
"Where is the question of an individual's morality? We can understand if one person says, 'I don't like these kinds of words.' You tell us, is there anyone on earth who would like these kinds of words? You are insulting parents," Justice Surya Kant remarked. "We don't want to say anything further, but there is something very dirty in his mind that has been vomited by him in this kind of a programme. Why should the court entertain this kind of person?"
The bench further observed, "The words you have chosen—the parents will feel ashamed, daughters and sisters will feel ashamed, your younger brother will feel ashamed, the entire society will feel ashamed."
While granting the interim relief, the bench restrained Allahbadia and his associates from airing any other show till further orders. "Stop this show business for the time being," it said.
