Transport dept identifies 50K sq ft ad space for DTC's revenue generation

With an aim to boost the Delhi Transport Corporation's (DTC's) revenue generation, the Transport Department has identified around 50,000 square feet of advertising space, said officials on Thursday.
NEW DELHI:
Delhi has around 7,000 buses. Out of these, 1,600 are electric buses. On an average, approximately 25 lakh people use DTC buses and 16 lakh travel on cluster buses daily.
The CAG reports tabled by the government in March this year showed that the DTC's liabilities rose from Rs 28,263 crore in 2015-16 to a staggering Rs 65,274 crore in 2021-22.
