A Delhi court on Friday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister, Satyendar Jain, in a high-profile money laundering case. Jain, who had been in jail for nearly two years, was released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening, following the court's decision. Hundreds of AAP workers gathered outside the prison to celebrate his release.
Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 30, 2022, on charges of laundering money through four companies allegedly linked to him. His detention had drawn significant political attention, with AAP leaders frequently voicing their discontent and claiming that his arrest was politically motivated.
