AMU not solely for Muslims, declares Yogi amidst minority status debate

In his first response to the recent Supreme Court judgment on Aligarh Muslim University's (AMU) minority status, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the institution does not belong exclusively to Muslims.

Addressing a rally in Khair, Aligarh, Adityanath questioned the justification behind AMU's proposed 50 per cent reservation for minority students despite receiving central funding.
"AMU doesn't belong solely to Muslims," Adityanath remarked, as he reignited his controversial "batenge to katenge" slogan (If Hindus are divided, they will be slaughtered), urging unity among Hindus to avert potential divisions.
