With or without classes, students are entitled to fare discount – LTFRB

Students should still be able to enjoy the mandated 20-percent fare discount they are entitled to even during class suspensions and holidays, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) clarified on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

As such, LTFRB Chairperson Vigor D. Mendoza II warned of legal consequences if PUV drivers refuse to grant the student fare discount, adding that operators would be also held liable.
