What Alynna Velasquez misses about OPM icon Hajji Alejandro
Manila Bulletin
|June 7, 2025
More than a month after OPM icon Hajji Alejandro's passing, singer Alynna Velasquez revealed that he had proposed marriage to her several years before his death.
-
But Alynna said she did not accept his proposal.
"Sabi ng iba bakit hindi raw ako nag demand ng kasal. He proposed to me years ago. Sabi niya magpakasal daw kami. Pero sabi ko huwag na lang baka magkaroon ng complication sa. mga anak niya. So sabi ko huwag na lang. (Some people said why didn't I demand marriage? He proposed to me years ago. He said we should get married. But I said, 'Don't, there might be complications with his children.' So I said don't)," said Alynna when asked if Hajji ever proposed to her during an interview after her concert at Viva Cafe in Araneta City recently.
Alynna regretted not accepting the wedding proposal, claiming it was for his benefit.
"Sayang talaga. There was a chance, but I decided not to accept it for his sake and his family. Hindi ko naman alam na mangyayari sa kanya ito. (Sadly, there was a chance, but I decided not to accept it for his family. I didn't know this would happen to him)," she said.
Alynna said she is okay with Rachel (Alejandro), daughter of Hajji, and Ali, who reached out to her after the male singer passed away. "Nag-thank you ako sa kanila. (I thanked them)."

As it was in the days of Noah...
Jesus compares the days of the Son of Man with the two catastrophic events in Genesis, namely: (1) the days of Noah when the people were carefree, enjoying life without due regard to God, and then the Deluge came; and (2) the days of Lot, when people were so violent and immoral, and then fire and brimstone destroyed their cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
