‘Verbena’ disrupts Visayas, Mindanao; 5th landfall seen

Floods and landslides triggered by Tropical Depression (TD) “Verbena” —which was forecast to make its fifth landfall last night in Palawan—disrupted
communities across the Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, Nov. 25, affecting close to 47,000 individuals and forcing widespread evacuations of nearly 2,500 others, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
The NDRRMC reported that 15,363 families or 46,923 individuals were affected in 44 barangays in Caraga (Region 13) alone.
Of these, 485 families or 1,966 individuals sought temporary shelter in 19 evacuation centers while 14 families or 69 individuals were assisted offsite.
