This is how you are to pray
Manila Bulletin
|February 24, 2026
To address God as “Father” (Aramaic Abba) is the cornerstone of prayer which gives us our “Christian identity.”
-
In praying, we always begin with the word “Father,” and it comes with the awareness that we are his children, and that we have a Father who loves us and knows all of our needs. To say “Our Father” is an acknowledgment that we have the same filial relationship with Jesus to one Father; it is Jesus who gives us this Christian identity, and joins us to God's family.
