Surrender now, Marcos tells Zaldy Co, 7 others

President Marcos has urged resigned congressman Zaldy Co and the remaining individuals with warrants of arrest over flood control anomalies to surrender as he announced Monday, Nov. 24, that eight are now under custody.

“To all the remaining accused, my advice is surrender now. Do not wait to be pursued. Your situation will be better if you face the case,” Marcos told them.
President Marcos also warned those who are hiding or attempting to hide the accused that they will be held accountable for their acts.
He issued the warning after one of those implicated in the flood control mess was arrested in a house not his own.
Now in government custody are former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IV-B regional director Gerald A. Pacanan, Assistant Regional Director Gene Ryan A. Altea, Assistant Regional Director Ruben D. Santos Jr., Construction Division chief Dominic G. Serrano, Project Engineer III Felisardo S. Casuno, Material Engineer Juliet Cabungan Calvo, Accountant IV Lerma D. Cayco, and officer-in-charge chief of Quality Assurance and Hydrology Division Dennis Pelo Abagon.
They were turned over to the Sandiganbayan on Monday, Nov. 24, Sandiganbayan which issued commitment orders after booking them.
