Roque disputes reports that he was arrested in The Netherlands

Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque debunked reports that he had been arrested in The Hague, Netherlands, and averred that he merely returned there after he was unable to fly to Vienna, Austria because he was “unfit” to travel.

“Hindi po ako naaresto, boluntaryo po ‘yung pagsama ko. Kasi nga masunurin ako (I was not arrested, I went with them voluntarily. I’m obedient),” he said on Tuesday night, Nov. 25, in an interview with vlogger Maharlika.
Roque said he was merely being escorted by authorities at Schiphol Airport so that he could travel to Vienna, which was the rightful place for him to seek political asylum.
To recall, the ex-Palace official sought asylum in the Netherlands shortly after the arrest and arrival of former president Rodrigo Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility.
