Marcos: I don't deal with criminals

President Marcos revealed on Wednesday, Nov.26, that a representative of former House appropriations chair Zaldy Co attempted to blackmail him amid the widening investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

In a video report uploaded to his social media accounts, the President said a lawyer reportedly representing Co approached his team and warned that the resigned congressman would release a video unless the government stopped the cancellation of his passport.

“Nilapitan po kami ng abogado ni Zaldy Co at nagtatangkang mag-blackmail na kung hindi po namin kakanselahin daw ang passport niya, hindi na raw siya maglalabas ng video (They attempted to blackmail us, saying that if we do not cancel his passport, he will no longer release a video exposé),” Marcos said.

The President said Co can do whatever he wants.

“I do not negotiate with criminals,” Marcos stressed.

“Even if you release all the videos of your lies meant to destabilize the government, I want to tell you, Zaldy, that your passport will still be canceled,” the President said. "You will not escape justice."
