Manila LGU, Quiapo Church announce plans for Traslacion 2026

The Manila City government and Quiapo Church officials vowed that next year's Traslacion, which is the highlight of the Feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9, will be holy, orderly, and safe.
The annual feast draws millions of devotees of the Black Nazarene.
The meeting for this year's celebration which will carry the theme: "Dapat Siyang Tumaas, at Ako Nama'y Bumaba" was led by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, who was also named as the event's Hermano Mayor, Rev. Fr. Jade Licuanan, Rector and Parish Priest of The Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazarene, Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad of the Manila Police District (MPD), official Fiesta spokesperson Rev. Fr. Robert Arellano, LRMS, and Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Jonathan Mojica.
They assured that security preparations will be in place for the celebration and the Traslacion, which is the procession of the Jesus Nazareno image from Quirino Grandstand back to Quiapo Church.
Rev. Fr. Arellano said the celebration will start from Dec. 31, 2025 until Jan. 9, 2026, with the lineup of activities set on the following dates and areas:
Quiapo Church
Novena Masses - Dec. 31, 2025 to Jan. 8, 2026
Thanksgiving Procession - Dec. 31 Barangay Visitation (Quiapo District) - Jan. 2 to 6, 2026
1st Friday of the Year Masses - Jan. 2, 2026
