Gun ban for BARMM elections in effect

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has started deploying thousands of policemen in various areas in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in preparation for the Bangsamoro parliament elections on Oct. 13.
PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III said a total of 10,000 uniformed personnel have been deployed to ensure the peaceful conduct of the first ever parliament elections as 94 towns and municipalities of the region are under election areas of concern.
