GSIS lends P413B

The state-run Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has disbursed a combined P413.4 billion, covering 1.9 million approved loan applications, under its Ginhawa Flex and Ginhawa Lite lending programs.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso reported during the pension fund’s stakeholders’ dialogue on Wednesday, June 25, that the Ginhawa Flex loan—the GSIS’s flagship multi-purpose loan program launched in September 2023—has reached P401.2 billion in releases.

This value translates into nearly 1.44 million approved loan applications of GSIS members as of Monday, June 23.

According to the GSIS, this loan allows members to borrow up to P5 million or 14 times their monthly salary, which can be repaid over 15 years, depending on their paid premiums.

Meanwhile, the Ginhawa Lite program has so far disbursed P12.2 billion to 409,000 members since its launch in October last year.
