Ex-SC justice joins SM Prime

Property-led developer SM Prime Holdings, Inc. has tapped former Senior Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe to be its newest Independent Director, replacing Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabe, who is now the Solicitor General of the Philippines.

The firm said Justice Perlas-Bernabe’s election into the SM Prime board of directors further reinforces the company’s commitment to strong corporate governance, prudent risk oversight and long-term stakeholder value creation.

With an unparalleled judicial career spanning over two decades, Justice Perlas-Bernabe served in all levels of the Philippine court system, maintaining a zero-case backlog upon every promotion until her retirement from the Supreme Court.
