Eid'l-Fitr: Marcos calls for compassion, unity; VP Duterte wishes for peace, enlightenment

President Marcos called for compassion and unity, while Vice President Sara Duterte wished for peace, enlightenment, and happiness as the country's top leaders joined the Muslim community in celebrating Eid'l Fitr, or the Festival of Breaking the Fast. In his message, the President described the occasion as a "time of dignified worship, deep reflection, and solemn prayer."

He said Eid'l Fitr was a "testament to our desire for shared humanity, strengthening bonds of family and friendship, as well as unity among our peers."

"Only through living with compassion and inclusivity can we appreciate and understand what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sought to accomplish—a life where harmony and love prevail upon us all," Marcos said.

The President encouraged the public to continue practicing kindness and empathy beyond the observance of Ramadan.

"Let us continue to be inspired to extend our hands in service, uplift those in need, and help find joy in those who seek it," he said.
