Chua dumps Gorst in Dubai finals
Manila Bulletin
|July 19 2025
Johann Chua showed brilliance as he outlasted American Fedor Gorst in the final, 13-6, to reign supreme in the 2025 Knight Shot 9-Ball Open in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates Thursday, July 17.
The 33-year-old Chua displayed iron will and took flight from a tight 7-6 lead, securing the next six racks to deny Gorst's comeback attempt in the finale of the 44-man competition.
"Raising this trophy to the one up there, for my country, my family, friends, sponsors, supporters..." Chua wrote on his social media post. "Buhay na buhay ang bilyar! Nakaka proud at nakakataba ng puso."
