Cebu makes its mark on the global luxury map with NUSTAR Hotel Cebu's rare international recognitions

With a coveted spot in the Michelin Guide and a LUXE Global Awards nomination, NUSTAR Hotel Cebu becomes one of the few Philippine properties to earn such honors

- BY JASMINE TUAÑO

When NUSTAR Hotel Cebu opened its doors in May 2025, it brought with it the kind of world-class prestige and promise long associated with the globe's most exclusive destinations—as Cebu's first ultra-luxury hotel.

Just months after its debut, the hotel has already secured a nomination for Best Ultra Luxurious Hotel at the LUXE Global Awards and earned a place in the prestigious Michelin Guide list of recommended hotels in 2025, distinctions rarely bestowed upon properties in the Philippines.

These recognitions place NUSTAR Hotel Cebu in rarefied company. The LUXE Global Awards recognize properties that redefine the boundaries of hospitality through exceptional service, design, and guest experience. To be included is a mark of genuine distinction.

On the other hand, the Michelin Guide, known globally for its anonymous and rigorous inspections, features only a select number of hotels that meet its criteria for excellence in design, service, individuality, value, and consistency. In both, NUSTAR Hotel Cebu has proven itself competitive and exceptional.

Cebu's first and only ultra-luxury hotel

Rising 26 stories along Cebu's South Road Properties (SRP), NUSTAR Hotel Cebu is the second tower to open in the NUSTAR Resort and Casino complex, following the equally acclaimed Fili Hotel. However, the Hotel sets itself apart as the region's first ultra-luxury property, with a vision rooted in refinement, exclusivity, and heartfelt service.
