NO ONE is in doubt about Andy Burnham's leadership ambitions - but no one in the Labour Party seems to believe it will happen.

There are currently no vacancies, leading to speculation over which MPs might step aside for Mr Burnham to stand.

All eyes had been on Gorton and Denton MP Andrew Gwynne who is currently suspended from the Labour Party. But the independent MP has now ruled out resigning - a move which will be viewed favourably by party bosses.
