Terrorist's family 'sorry' for no-show at inquest

THE brother of the terrorist who attacked Heaton Park Synagogue sent an email apologising for his family’s absence from a pre-inquest review hearing into his death.
Jihad Al-Shamie
Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, was shot dead by police during the attack in Crumpsall on October 2 last year.
He stabbed to death Melvin Cravitz, 66, while another worshipper, Adrian Daulby, 53, died after being hit by a ‘stray’ police bullet.
Yesterday England and Wales Chief Coroner Her Honour Alexia Durran started a preliminary inquest hearing into Al-Shamie's death. Moments after noting the absence of anyone from the Al-Shamie family despite invitations to attend, the court received an email of apology from Al-Shamie’s brother Kenan Al-Shamie.
