A MARKET stallholder stalked staff at a cafe.

Jitander Mistry, known as Jaz, repeatedly harassed two women, sending 'smash the face in' of one of the women after he saw her 'flirting' with a man, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Police were later informed and Mistry, 56, was banned from Longsight market. He threatened to strangle the market manager and said he would take a knife to the cafe.

Tobias Collins, prosecuting, said Mistry was a regular at Colin's cafe in Longsight. He worked on a clothes stall in at the market and would often go to the cafe.

In 2022, he was shy but became more confident, the court heard. He struck up a 'friendship' with staff before his behaviour turned 'strange' and 'weird' towards one of the women.

"[She] described how prior to this offending, the defendant told her his former partner was working as a prostitute, then he began behaving strangely towards her," Mr Collins.
