LEGEND Sir Clive Lloyd says Lancashire 'shaped him as a cricketer and a person' after accepting the nomination to be the club's new president.

- By CHRIS OSTICK

The West Indies great was key to the Red Rose's one-day domination in the 1970s, helping them lift two One-Day League titles in 1969 and 1970 and four Gillette Cups.

The 81-year-old also scored more than 12,000 runs in 219 first-class appearances for the county, as well as leading the Windies to two World Cup triumphs

Since retiring, Sir Clive has kept strong bonds with Lancashire, having served on the committee from 1993 to 2012 and he is currently a vice president.
