A MUM who went to bed for a lie down after suffering from a headache woke up six weeks later in hospital.

- By JAMES HOLT

Natalie Fisher asked her eldest son to look after her youngest, who is autistic and nonverbal, while she went for a rest.

But when her son went to check on her, he found her lying unresponsive. Emergency services were called and the mum-of-four was rushed to hospital.

Natalie, from Reddish, had suffered a brain aneurism - when a brain artery bleeds into the brain or surrounding area and causes a hemorrhagic stroke.

In hospital she remained in a coma, later explaining that she could hear everything going on in the room around her, before being transferred to Salford Royal Hospital, where open brain surgery ultimately saved her life.
