Guardiola contract decision made for avoidance of doubt

PEP Guardiola chose to sign a two-year deal at Manchester City to avoid any uncertainty next season.

The Blues boss surprised many not just by committing his future at the Etihad but to extend for another two years that will take him to the summer of 2027.

If he sees out his deal, and he has seen out every deal in his coaching career, he will have been in Manchester for 11 years.

There is obvious delight at the club that they have managed to secure their coach for another two seasons.
