Parking charges spark anger over delegation of decisions

COUNCILLORS have called for Cheshire East to look at how it delegates decision-making to officers following an angry backlash over the location of mobile tips and the hike in parking charges and hours.

Councillor Sue Adams, who represents Disley, has called for the whole process to be looked at so changes like the introduction of Sunday and evening parking charges can’t just be ‘sneaked through’ by officers.

It has recently been announced that Bollington will lose the mobile tip service on top of its recycling centre being shut.

And charge increases - or introduction - will affect Macclesfield, Prestbury and Poynton.
