Ladies jump for Joy after ending ace wait

Golf Club ladies are a very active section with plenty of competitions and events.
But one thing that has been eluding them since 2013 is a hole in one.
This was ended in the ladies ‘major’ Diamond Jubilee medal, sponsored by Alex Forbes.
On a windy day with challenging conditions the competition was won by past Lady Captain Gill Evans 71, from Kay Atkin 74 and Alycia Sutton76.
Alex Forbes had the best gross of 91 and June Sumner was the division two winner with 73.
There were more celebrations for Sue Lawton winning the 9-hole competition with 22 Stableford points and Judy Mutter was the nearest the pin winner.
But the story of the day was a hole in one on the fifth hole by Joy Clements which was the first by a lady at the club for 12 years and celebrated long and hard at the 19th hole.
Macc’s men played for the Millenium Cup and Paul Sayer was a clear winner with 43 from Thomas Silcock, Thomas Robinson and Brendan Leighton, all 40
