Home boss 'failed resident'

A CARE home manager has been ordered to pay £2,511 for failing to provide safe care and treatment to a resident who later died.
She was hauled before Manchester Magistrates' Court, following a prosecution by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC), for failing to provide safe care and treatment to a resident at Oakbank Care Home.
Parminder Kaur, the registered manager of Oakbank Care Home, pleaded guilty to failing to provide safe care and treatment to a resident, thereby exposing the man to a significant risk of avoidable harm, says the CQC.
The man was admitted to Oakbank Care Home, on Rochdale Road in north Manchester, on December 24, 2019, and was noted as being at high risk of falls and could only walk short distances with a walking stick and under supervision.
