October is Black History month, here's just a few of city's history makers

- HAKIM HAFAZALLA

Black & brilliant Mancs

OVER the years, many Black Mancunians have made their mark in history from young sportsmen such as Danny Welbeck to Nobel Prize-winning economist, Arthur Lewis.

Black History Month occurring every October gives us a chance to celebrate the achievements of black people around the world with achievements in the past being forgotten due to the colour of their skin.

The list features entrepreneurs, sportspersons and MBE holders, all whom have made a mark in history and represented Manchester in a positive light.

Although this does not represent every black Mancunian who has deserved recognition, it's a snippet of the successful individuals Manchester has helped produce.

OLUWANIFEMI MUSA

Oluwanifemi Musa, from Ardwick, is a man who has been selfless with his success. In 2018, he started his own business online selling his own clothing brand called 'The Caedes!

After that did not work out, he resorted to selling items purchased from flea markets and charity shops in large amounts and selling it on Amazon and eBay.

Over the years, he has accumulated almost £750,000 and uses a large percentage of the money to invest in the development of schools back home in Nigeria.

He has given significant charitable funds towards a new school and equipment for less fortunate people in the area.
