TAYLOR WARD is treated after he crashed face-first into the left-field scoreboard. He would get stitches, Ray Montgomery said.

José Soriano and two relievers combined for a two-hitter and Oswald Peraza hit his first home run since a trade from the Yankees to lead the Angels to a 3-0 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday.

Angels outfielder Taylor Ward was injured trying to make a catch on a hit when he crashed face-first into the metal scoreboard in left field. He was bleeding and appeared to have a cut above his right eye as he was slowly carted off the field. Ward was taken to a hospital, where interim manager Ray Montgomery said Ward would receive stitches to close the cut and be evaluated.
