Gas leak caused explosion in Chino Hills, officials say

THE BLAST at a home injured eight people and forced temporary evacuations.

On Sunday at about 3:44 p.m., the Chino Valley Fire District responded to an explosion in the 4200 block of Sierra Vista Drive in Chino Hills, according to a Fire District news release. The home exploded because of a gas leak, but the source of the leak was not found, officials said.
