Housing provider says it can't install charger for health & safety reasons

- By DAVID HUMPHREYS

A FORMER healthcare worker has told of his frustration at having to take his electric car to charge at a nearby McDonald's after being told he can’t have a charger at his home.

For months, Alexander Wilson says he has asked Your Housing Group to install a charging port at his property at Heathergreen Court in Walton.

Mr Wilson, 60, said despite his protestations, the housing provider was not able to grant his request. This has now pushed the former Merseycare staff member to travel to his closest McDonald's to use a public charging station to use his car.

He told the ECHO how this was impacting his physical and mental health, as well as his finances. Your Housing Group said Mr Wilson’s lack of private driveway made installation unviable.
