WRITERS on potential U-turn

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin wants to stay and an agreement can be reached, then it's a no-brainer. Get him signed.

I know that’s an opinion that won't be universally agreed with - and I can understand why not. His recent goals return and the fact that he has yet fully to return from a serious injury are certainly red flags. So too is the fact that he appeared to have one foot out of the door last summer only for his move to Newcastle United to break down.

But the picture has changed since then.

The hamstring blow Calvert-Lewin sustained against Brighton in January, coupled with his overall injury record, may have put suitors off.
