Why I'm so happy it was Jack who got the winner

AGAINST Crystal Palace we saw in flashes what Tyler Dibling can do but I wanted to see a bit more from him. Maybe the occasion got to him?
-
It was his first start at Hill Dickinson Stadium, a big game and he’s young, so I'll let him off a little bit, but when he gets his next opportunity, I want to see a reaction when he loses the ball.
We spent a lot of money on Tyler and the pressure is on him - I get it - but his job is to create opportunities and every attack I want to see a shot or a cross, that’s your job. The game seemed to bypass him which I can fully understand.
You want to see more from your most expensive signing of the summer. You want to see an instant impact, but while he’s played in the Premier League before, he’s still a young kid.
Tyler is in new surroundings, and he's had to bide his time. Of course I'd like to see more from him, but we've also got to let him grow as a player, find his feet and trust himself.
There were times when he was passing the ball when I'd like to have see him dribble. Don’t always take the easy option, show us why we spent so much money on you.
The price tag is a number between the two football clubs though, it’s nothing to do with him. I’m told he wants to be a starter, well prove that then.
Go out and start working hard then, go express yourself. As Evertonians, you'll get to know how we tick as a fanbase and Seamus Coleman is there.
It happened to me on my first start. I played a couple of games coming off the bench and we won against Tottenham and drew against Liverpool.
Then I got my first start against West Ham. I don’t know what happened to me.
I was just running around. I didn’t affect the game, I didn’t get the ball and I didn’t tackle anyone, and quite rightly, I got substituted.
It was only afterwards on the coach I thought to myself: ‘What happened there?’ I was so disappointed, I still think about it now, over 28 years later, it gets to me.
