We need to get car parking balance right, says leader

PARKING in Liverpool city centre already “more than meets demand” according to the leader of the city council, amid changes proposed.

City leaders backed a proposal to adopt a new parking strategy with the aim of reducing the ability for people to drive and park in the city centre.

With the adoption of the new strategy, there is no intention to increase the number of car parking spaces in the future.

Speaking on a BBC Radio Merseyside phone-in, Cllr Liam Robinson, leader of Liverpool Council, spoke about the changes.
