Don't worry, these budget-friendly indie titles will help the school holidays pass more smoothly

ROLL ON SUMMER

THE school summer holidays are days away, meaning seven whole weeks of entertaining the kids.

That's a daunting enough task as it is, without taking into consideration how expensive life remains.

And while family walks and beach trips offer pocket-friendly options, you can't do them every day.

If your child is a gamer it can be even more expensive as they'll have more time to spend behind a console looking for things to play.

This is where indie games come into their own. Absolute saviours when it comes to getting a cheaper gaming fix, they're often much more fun than the big AAA titles.

There's good news too, because July brings with it some great titles including a cute 2D platformer about a kitten searching for her mum.

Adult gamers won't be left out as the intriguing The Drifter is also due out in the next few weeks.

So before the holidays truly kick in, here are five titles this month that won't break the bank.

Wheel World

(PEGI 3) XBOX X/S, PS5, PC Price: TBC

You're trying to save the world on two wheels in this title that sees you play as a magical courier.
