LIVERPOOL'S defeat to Manchester United on Sunday has left them teetering on the brink of an unwanted record, with a Champions League showdown against Eintracht Frankfurt looming.

The Reds are heading to Germany in an attempt to halt a four-match losing streak across all competitions. A loss to the Bundesliga side would mark their fifth consecutive defeat - a low point not seen since September 1953 for the Merseyside club.

This unfortunate streak began with a last-minute defeat at Crystal Palace, followed by losses to Galatasaray and Chelsea. The international break did little to reset the team's fortunes, as United secured a shock win at Anfield.
