Ins and outs of it for Liverpool
Liverpool Echo
|August 23, 2025
DON'T worry, folks. It'll soon all be over.
With the clock ticking ever louder, so looming into view comes the transfer deadline on September 1.
With head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes leading the way, Liverpool have been working hard during the transfer window to prepare the squad for their defence of the Premier League title.
Close to £300million has been committed on signing new players, with Reds owners Fenway Sports Group having long acquired a reputation for being canny operators in the market.
So what else can Liverpool fans expect over the coming nine days?
Deals done
Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz arrived from Bayer Leverkusen for £29m and a club record £116m respectively, while Milos Kerkez moved from Bournemouth for £40m and Hugo Ekitike was captured from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal that could ultimately cost Liverpool £79m.
The goalkeeping department was overhauled with Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving at the start of July after a £29m move from Valencia agreed last August.
