EVERTON-MAD SIMON THANKS CLUB STAFF - AND NETS BANK REFUND

- By MEGAN BANNER ECHO Correspondent

AN EVERTON fan who was scammed out of £278 after he travelled from Exeter to Liverpool earlier this month has been refunded the money.

Lifelong Everton FC fan Simon Williams, 48, who lives in Exeter, travelled 251 miles to Liverpool with two friends to visit family, who live in Widnes, and watch the club’s match against Fulham.

On Saturday, November 8, Simon, a forklift driver, said he thought he’d “go out on a whim” and try to buy tickets from the box office at the stadium.

The three friends had walked from the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool city centre, where they'd been staying, to Hill Dickinson stadium. They were told there were no tickets left.

Simon, who'd planned to go to the match with his friend Susie, previously told the ECHO: “We thought we'd be able to get tickets at Bramley-Moore.
