Worry School roll numbers are reducing in West Dunbartonshire
Concerns over the number of teachers employed by West Dunbartonshire Council have been raised by a councillor worried that families with young children continue to settle elsewhere.
A report presented to members of the education committee highlights there are 29 early learning and childcare centres, 34 primary schools, five secondary schools and seven specialist settings throughout the local authority.
A net revenue budget of £137.58million and a capital budget of £11.67million has been set aside for education services for 2025/26 with a total of 1049 support staff and 1026 teachers employed as of March 2025.
The Scottish Government expects all local authorities to maintain teacher numbers at the pre-determined level set in 2023.
