Clydesdale Harriers' milestone anniversary
Lennox Herald
|May 06, 2025
Calls for Clydesdale Harriers athletics club to receive a civic reception as they celebrate their 140th anniversary have been issued by a West Dunbartonshire councillor.
A motion by councillor William Rooney was brought before full council to recognise the "remarkable legacy" of the first open amateur athletics club in Scotland which was founded on May 4, 1885 and has welcomed all members of the public.
The organisation welcomes new members, of all abilities, whatever their standard and provides an opportunity to become a member of a progressive proactive club.
