A POLICE officer was bitten as he and his colleagues tried to deal with various drunk people making threats in the street.

- By TOM MACK

The incident started at about 6pm in Hillsborough Road, Eyres Monsell, after Tracy Allen, 45, had a row with her mum which spilled out into the street.

After the police arrived, a couple living nearby came out of their house - both also drunk - and threats were made to Allen, so the police decided to arrest Allen to get her away from the situation.

But as they tried to remove her, planning to take her to a nearby bus stop, she resisted.

The officers decided to put her in handcuffs but as they tried to do so, she kept bashing her head at the officers’ hands.

On one occasion, she got an officer’s finger between her teeth and bit him.
