HE ADMITS TO PROBLEMS WITH DRINK AS COURT WARNS HIM TO STAY AWAY FROM CAR FOR YEAR

- By TOM MACK

A MAN who was found drunk in his car was arrested by police who found he was due in court hours later for the same offence.

CCTV operators spotted a drunk Gregory Knowles in his car and called the police.

And when officers turned up, they discovered the 46-year-old was due in court just a few hours later for a previous similar offence.

Knowles had first been caught drunk in a car in November last year.

On that occasion he was arrested and gave a breathalyser reading, which came in at about twice the drink-drive limit.

His court hearing was scheduled for August 26, but in the early hours of that day, Knowles was spotted drunk in a car in Melton.

This time, when arrested, he refused to tell the officers his name or take a breath test.

He was charged with failing to provide a specimen while in charge of a vehicle.
