Lions must make home advantage count in Grand Final first leg

LEICESTER Lions face Ipswich Witches at the Hydroscand Arena tonight in the first leg of the Premiership Grand Final with the return in Suffolk on Thursday, writes Alan Jones.
Hopes are high that the Lions, who were losing finalists last season against Belle Vue Aces, can go one better and win their first ever league title at the top level of British Speedway.
The Witches were top of the Premiership for large periods of the season and eventually finished second, one place above the Lions.
Preseason, Ipswich were tipped as favourites to lift the league title they last won in 1998.
Spearheaded by the former Leicester rider Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov, the visitors have an abundance of all-round strength to test Leicester.
