Inflation busting increases in rent

Rent in Preston rose by nine per cent over the past year.

Provisional figures from the Office for National Statistics show the average private rent in Preston reached £752 per month in the year to October-up 9% from £691 a year prior.
It was also up 31% from an estimated £576 a month five years ago.
