UTLBC Holds Camps in Jmu, Sgr to Settle Unclaimed Financial Assets
Kashmir Observer
|NOVEMBER 15, 2025 ISSUE
The J&K Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee (UTLBC) on Friday organised mega Settlement-cum-Awareness Camps simultaneously in Jammu and Srinagar to facilitate on-the-spot identification, verification and disbursement of unclaimed financial assets lying with banks, insurance companies, pension funds, mutual funds and other financial institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
The initiative is part of the ongoing three-month national campaign “Aapki Poonji, Aapka Adhikar” (Your Money, Your Right) launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, to ensure rightful claimants receive their long-pending dues without procedural hurdles.
Thanks to extensive publicity by banks and allied institutions, both camps saw significant public participation. According to officials, Rs 1.62 crore, including Rs 5 lakh in unclaimed insurance amounts, was settled and disbursed on the spot after due verification.
Jammu Camp
The Jammu camp was presided over by Regional Director, RBI (Jammu) Chandra Shekhar Azad, who highlighted the “3A Strategy”—Awareness, Accessibility and Action—as the backbone of the national campaign.
