A day ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Srinagar's markets were packed to capacity as residents thronged shops on Arafah Day to make last-minute purchases. From bustling lanes in Lal Chowk to the narrow alleys of Downtown, the festive atmosphere was palpable, with families shopping for groceries, garments, mutton, and other essentials.

Adding to the celebratory mood, bakery shops across the city witnessed an overwhelming rush and remained open till late evening on Friday to cater to the rising demand. Popular bakeries in Karan Nagar, Khanyar, and Rajbagh had long queues of customers eager to pick up traditional cakes, breads, and pastries.

“It's a joy to see families out in such numbers, preparing together for Eid,” said Irfan Malik, a shopper in Goni Khan. “The streets are alive with activity, and the spirit of the festival is in full swing.”
