Iran Gets Significant Diplomatic Boost

Iran received a significant diplomatic endorsement at the BRICS summit here, as the bloc of emerging powers issued its strongest condemnation yet of military strikes on Iranian territory.

In a joint statement, BRICS denounced “the military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” calling it a “reckless violation of Iran's sovereignty”.

The summit, held in Brazil under the leadership of Russia and China, marked Iran's first participation as a full BRICS member, underscoring its growing alignment with non-Western powers.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi represented Tehran and declared at a time when the “tectonic economic and political shifts” have become more apparent, “Iran welcomes and is delighted to be part of the dawn of a new era.”
