Firms set to benefit from a cut to rates

MORE than 2,600 retail, hospitality, and leisure businesses across Thanet are set to benefit from a permanent cut to business rates, reducing them to their lowest level since 1991, following an announcement in the recent Budget.

The measure, which applies to approximately 750,000 businesses nationwide, is said to provide significant relief to local high streets and independent operators in coastal areas like Thanet.
Polly Billington, MP for East Thanet, welcomed the targeted support, saying small and medium sized businesses are the foundation of the local economy.
"This is a real boost for the small firms that keep our towns thriving from shops and cafés to pubs, venues, and visitor attractions," the MP said.
