Taking on wasps' nest in attic no joke

WEARING a crash helmet, two jackets, a scarf and gloves I looked at the wasps' nest. The wasps' nest looked at me.

Everything up to then - in the insulated heat of an attic - was slow motion. Slow, because it's challenging enough climbing a ladder, not to mind whilst in two pairs of trousers.

I felt, and perhaps looked like, a man on a lunar mission. But only if the man on the lunar mission was about to confront space wasps - a danger astronauts have yet to face.

The wasps' nest in the attic had to go. I think there's laws against sending children up to do it. The responsibility fellas it often does with stingy b*****s - to me.

I took guidance - as we so often do - from the internet. As Roy Keane almost said: 'Fail to prepare, prepare to fail and get stung in the face by wasps'.
